Hinds Lane Greenway

Clearance of a section of canal from Bury to Radcliffe, Greater Manchester, by specialist weed boat. Bramble and tree removal will take place to allow access. Invasive plants, silt and litter are causing stagnant water which negatively impacts wildlife and users. Debris will be placed at the waters edge to enable creatures to return, and to limit disturbance. Fishing access points will be created. Volunteers will litter pick. The canal area is openly accessible to all for sport, recreation, wellbeing, and nature activities. Works will improve water quality and movement, and reduce gas emissions.
