Hinksey Trail Boardwalk – Major Replacement Programme

The project aims to replace all the sections of boardwalk on the site so that they are constructed in a way that provides for longevity of the path and the safety of visitors. Much has been done in this direction over the past two years (including the completion of a 33m section of plastic boardwalk in 2022 – also funded by TOE). Although the group are following a policy of gradual replacement of unnecessary boardwalk stretches with sustainable surface treatments, significant lengths of path across wetland areas will need to be traversed via boardwalk sections.
