Hipton Hill site management and volunteer management and recruitment

This two year project will fund volunteer activities, essential for the management Hipton Hill Orchard. It will allow us to continue to recruit, train, support and equip volunteers to manage this important traditional orchard as a landscape feature and a haven for wildlife. Hipton Hill Orchard provides an important visual amenity which can be seen for miles around giving a reminder of the importance of the plum growing industry which dominated the Vale of Evesham through the 19th and 20th centuries. These old orchards are all but gone along with the local varieties of plums and the associated social history.
