Histon & Impington Green Spaces (HIGS)

The project is to purchase land known as Croft Close set-aside in Histon on the outskirts of Cambridge, and to manage and maintain it as a wild and messy place, with rich biodiversity, where the public can engage freely with nature. Interpretation and artwork inside the entrance from Croft Close (a cul-de-sac) will seek to capture the special characteristics of the site and its importance – natural and cultural. At the same time, it needs to be functional, for example providing essential facilities such as a cycle rack, seating, dog waste bin, signage and information panels.
