Historical Restoration of Woodland at Plas Power

Continuous woodland management at Plas Power is ensuring this beautiful and tranquil 34 hectare (83 acre) wood is protected for us all to enjoy. Plas Power Woods extend for nearly two kilometres along the River Clywedog between the villages of Coedpoeth and Bersham, near to the town of Wrexham. Although there is only one public footpath there is an extensive network of permissive trails around the site, picnic and parking facilities – provided by the local authority – to serve this well visited amenity enjoyed by the local community and visitors to the area. However, there is an essential restoration programme of historical heritage of Victorian iram railings and eighteenth century weir restoratation works and and woodland conservation management improvements of invasive species control, thiing of conifers, hedge management and litter clearance to be undertaken in 2009 and 2010.
