Hoblingwell Wood Recreation Ground, Orpington - New Play Equipment and Sensory Garden (008102)

In partnership with the Friends of Hoblingwell, the aim is to revitalise the playground at Hoblingwell Rec, St Paul’s Cray, transforming it into a sustainable, inclusive, & accessible community hub. Located in one of Bromley's most deprived areas, local residents face barriers such as poor transport links, increasing the need for a community space. Through community consultation, locals called for modern play equipment and sensory areas for children with additional needs. The Friends also plan to create a sensory garden to promote biodiversity. Low-carbon materials are to be installed to align with Bromley Council's net zero target. This project builds on recent successes, such as the introduction of a cycle track, which has helped reduce antisocial behaviour. We have secured £7.5K, but seek a further £75k to replace outdated equipment with sustainable alternatives.
