Holbeck Cemetery Viewing Platform

Holbeck Cemetery is located on Beeston Road, adjacent to Noster Terrace, Leeds. It was designed by Joshua Major, a 19th Century Landscape Gardener, and opened in 1857. It still functions as an operational burial ground but not for new grave plots. The project involves the creation of a viewing area within the cemetery which incorporates landmarks in Leeds City Centre and the important and interesting gravestones and monuments. It includes the construction of retaining walls and a paved area with stamped bricks, the erection of bow top railings and art panels, the re-surfacing of pathways and levelling works.
