Hollinsend Park, Sheffield – New MUGA (5837/D)

The project is to create a new Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) to upgrade two of the existing, derelict tennis courts. Damaged fencing and surfacing will be removed and the new court will be surfaced with sport tarmac and marked out for basketball, mini soccer and cricket practice in line with results of consultation. New fencing will ensure the balls remain within the court. As an old leylandii hedge needs to be removed as it provides a risk of root damage to the new court, new hedge and tree planting will be carried out. Seating will be provided just outside of the court to allow safe viewing of games and new access will be provided into the court to ensure all abilities can access the facility. Restoring these courts will provide a free, quality location for basketball, football and cricket and allow people to play sports in the park.

The Trust grant will contribute towards the MUGA works.
