The repair works to footpaths 1, 2 and 3 will include:- • Barrier off area for safety of pedestrians • Dig out existing path 1m wide x 30m long x 4” deep – footpath 1 • Dig out existing path 1m wide x 50m long x 4” deep – footpath 2 • Dig out existing path 12m wide x 50m long x 4” deep – footpath 3 • Dispose of all earth • Install membrane to the bottom of the new path • Fill with Type 1. • Compact down Type 1 to as level as possible to form a natural looking path. Hullbridge Parish Council took over the management of Kendal Nature Reserve from Rochford District Council in 1995 at which time the footpaths were professionally laid. Since that time the repairs have been carried out by volunteers. However, the footpaths have been scoured by rainfall and have become uneven and rutted in many places. The Parish Council on a matter of safety considered that the footpaths need to be professionally re-laid.
