Husbands Bosworth Millennium Woodland Trust Pathways

The Woodland is the site of a former open-hearth brickyard and clay-pit, abandoned in the 1950s, which has reverted to natural deciduous woodland and unimproved pasture. The site extends to approximately 4 acres, including a man-made lake, an island wildlife refuge and extensive plantings of native trees. This project will complete works within the Woodland to enable more of the site to be accessed and to improve the visitors’ experience. One element of the proposed project is to extend the pathway over a natural wetland areato encourage visitors to explore and interpret the ecological and historical background of the site. Within the proposals are elements to repair, improve and extend the existing pathways, most of which were laid out between 2002 and 2004 and now require refurbishment for safety reasons.
