Hutton Marsh Habitat Improvements

The primary intent of the project is to improve the nesting habitat for ground nesting birds within the Ribble Estuary Site of Special Scientific Interest, Special Protection Area and Ramsar Site.

Species most likely to benefit are: redshank, oystercatcher, ringed plover, lapwing, curlew along with passage migrates and wintering birds such as wheatear, stonechat, buntings and warblers.

The project will predator fence an area of remnant tidal creek, create shingle banks and plant reed and club rush to improve the habitat.
