Iconic Gateway Project – Bridging Communities in Thamesmead

This is a project to transform a bleak modernist bridge structure, a key but underused link within Thamesmead, through a creative programme to include stunning architectural lighting, use of colour and community participation. This will enable a striking modernist footbridge spanning the A2016 to provide a safer route with increased footfall and a new sense of place around what is the only pedestrian and cycling connection between north and south Thamesmead and through to the town centre.
