Idle Valley Nature Reserve – Community Engagement

To enhance community engagement and volunteering opportunities following our wilder approach to managing the reserve, which includes the introduction of Eurasian Beavers and longhorn cattle.
Create a dedicated volunteer hub based at the conservation grazing centre, close to the visitor centre at the reserve.
At the reserve entrance, we will install an information cabin run by volunteers to welcome visitors and help orientate them on their visit.
Recruit volunteers specifically for public engagement purposes.
Carry out visitor focused habitat work with the creation of new and inspiring viewpoints around some wetland areas with interpretation boards, providing engagement opportunities with digital QR codes.
We will install motion-sensor cameras, to provide us with a livestream and record of activity within the beaver enclosure. Footage will be played within the visitor centre and on our popular website
