Iffley meadows Nature reserve – maintenance work

Iffley Meadows supports a thriving population of the rare Snakeshead Fritilliary. The reserve is carefully managed for these plants and to ensure this ancient wet meadow retains it’s natural water channels. The annual hay cut and the the pollarding are essential features of this managment system. This type of wet meadow is increasingly rare.
