Immanuel Community Centre, Southbourne – Soft Play and Sensory Garden (006334)

The project will provide an outside sensory garden and indoor soft play and multi-sensory area for local families and elderly people to access within the Community Centre. There is a demand for a soft play area with a Cafe on site since the closure of the successful Good Play Cafe last year.

The aminity be available to the general public, indoors for a small fee,(£4 per hour) and outdoors free of charge with weekly sessions reserved for children with special needs and for the on site Preschool and Toddler groups.

Families in the local area have expressed lots of interest in using the facilities when they open in 2019. They will also be a useful resource to people with dementia. In addition the applicants will re-tarmac the entrance and path to the garden area to improve access for the less able, pushcairs and wheelchairs.
