Important Arable Plant Areas of Bedfordshire

A specialist survey of nine arable sites in Bedfordshire, using Plantlife standard methodology to establish whether the sites can be classed as Nationally Important Arable Plant Areas. The survey follows on from baseline work carried out by Plantlife and will focus on 9 key areas. Bedfordshire is thought to contain key remaining populations of arable plant species such as ground-pine, broad-fruited cornsalad and field cow-wheat.

Survey data will be used to confirm whether the sites class as IAPAs, and will inform a second phase of the project, to ensure the sites are managed correctly for these species.
