Improved Pond Dipping Facilities for Young People at Fyne Court

This project will improve the very popular pond dipping amenity at Fyne Court Broomfield. It will remove the silt in the pond which has built up over many years. This pond forms the main part of the education programme of the Somerset Wildlife Trust and is an immensely popular amenity for thousands of visiting children and their families.
Objectives of the project are:-
Remove silt accumulated in the dipping pond at Fyne Court creating a greater variety of water depths which will suppress weed growth and encourage biodiversity.
To repair and maintain the dipping platforms when the pond is drained.
Rebuild the end wall with block and sealed or lined with appropriate materials.
The dipping platforms are an essential part of the whole educational experience for children who take part in pond dipping and they must be repaired and kept in good condition for obvious health and safety measures.
