Improvement of Accessibility and Safety of the Open Access Farm Trial at Elm Farm

The project will provide a much improved outdoor facility for the local community and enable easier access for people with disabilities and limited mobility, to the open access farm trail at Elm Farm. Including replacement of 11 footpath stiles with gates, improvement of the footpath surface, the replacement of signage and interpretation boards, and the establishment of rest areas with seating at suitable points on the trail.
The project has the support of several local charities that work with the elderly and disabled.
Educational visits and events will be organised free of charge for local schools and groups to interest and inform them about food and farming and the countryside.
