Improvements to Community Facilities in Church

To improve facilities within our building for disabled users, parents of babies and young children, by providing a ramp and an extension containing a disabled toilet with baby changing facilities on the side of the building where most midweek activities take place. The outcome will enable the premises to be accessible to more users and more groups.

The windows are, of course, single glazed; the openings in the windows are high and out of reach without climbing on steps (or furniture). The room can be hot and stuffy in summer, cold and draughty in winter. We propose to replace these windows with UPVC/ argon gas filled cavity double glazed units. The three smaller windows will have a lockable opening section that can be reached by hand from the floor; the high window will have a chain and handle system to enable opening. The changing of these windows will be to the benefit of all users of this room, especially on hot summer days and will improve energy use.
