Improvements to Greaves Park, Lancaster

To deliver a range of linked improvements throughout Greaves Park to raise the profile and encourage more use from a wider variety of local people. Specifically the installation of additional play equipment in the children’s play area, more litter bins and the planting of trees, shrubs and wildflowers in the community garden. The play equipment will enhance this popular play area and extend usage by providing equipment for the older end of the primary school range who often pass on their way home from nearby schools as well as making it more attractive for families with children of varying ages. Other elements of the project aim to increase awareness and usage of the wider park through installation of signage, information boards and bins. In addition to the capital expenditure, volunteer sessions will continue to control invasive species and make the park more accessible and ecologically diverse, whilst creating and maintaining a wide variety of wildlife habitats.
