Improvements to South Tyneside Gymnastics Centre

The South Tyneside Gymnastics centre is a major regional sports resource, well used by the local community. It has a large gymnastics hall with a range of equipment for teaching gymnastics and trampolining, and a large dance studio.The entrance hall and ladies toilets are in need of renovation as they are heavily used, by the nature of the activities on offer at the centre. When constructed in the 1980’s it was not envisaged that the centre would be heavily used by new mothers and people with disabilities. The reception area is unwelcoming and sterile. The project will refurbish the ladies toilets to make the facility more user friendly.We will replace all of the doors in the centre with more wheel chair and buggy friendly doors (one large door with a half door to the side), improving access. We will renovate the reception area of the building with new security doors, new reception desk, new flooring
