Improving Access and Biodiversity on Urban Nature Reserve

The project aims to make Beacon Hill nature reserve more accessible to the public by creating a path, improving the car park and installing fencing to secure the boundary and prevent illegal vehicle entry. We also wish to re- landscape an area of the reserve and replant with native species. We will involve local people in the work to develop affection towards Beacon Hill, leading to more postitive use. We intend to lay 100m of hedging to provide feeding and nesting habitat for various birds. Maintenance work will be done on the grassland and woodland areas to improve biodiversity.
