Improving Access to Heybridge Basin

Our proposal is to improve access along the approximately 150m long section of trackway running adjacent to the waterway at Heybridge Basin to enable better access for visitors, walkers, cyclists and light traffic. This section of track, owned by Essex Waterways, forms part of the Essex Coastal Path, the National Cycleway Route 1 between Maldon and Colchester and is located in the Heybridge Conservation Area.
Funding would be spent on replacing the failing surface of the trackway which will improve the access around Heybridge Basin lock area and will improve the lockside amenity space making it a more attractive space for visitors and the general public.
