Improving access to the McClean Way at Bullows Road Bridge, Brownhills, West Midlands

A former railway line, the McClean Way is popular with the local community as a traffic-free green space where people can walk and cycle. Many access the path from Bullows Road because it is a convenient place to get to. However it is not currently a formal access point and so involves scrambling up a steep dirt bank next to the bridge where the parapets are damaged. Despite the fact they are not permitted on the path, motorbikes also try to get onto it here and have damaged the embankment in doing so.
Our project aims to formalise and improve the safety of a popular access point onto the McClean Way multi-user path from Bullows Road, whilst deterring illegal access by motorbikes.
