Improving biodiversity

During the 1980s and 1990s significant new areas of tree planting took place but are presently lacking in ground flora. Management of the meadows along the valley bottom has reduced the nutrient levels but due to their isolation wildflowers have not managed to seed in naturally. Work will take place to increase the number of wildflowers in both habitats.

A lot of work has been undertaken to restore the historical pinetum and american garden but still requires some plants to complete the work.

All the planting work will be undertaken by volunteers and community groups.
