Improving Native Species Habitats on Falkland Estate

This project will encourage, protect and raise awareness of the varied biodiversity of Falkland Estate. It will specifically target the invasive, non – native Rhododendron Ponticum, in order to improve habitat for a number of native species including butterflies, Scots Pine undergrowth and red squirrels. The project will be advertised at the Big Tent festival (c. 10,000 visitors) through a variety of creative workshops and will lead to local conservation days and corporate responsibility days. Once the ground has been cleared, we will plant wildflower plugs and undertake survey work using GPS mapping.
