Improving the Visitor Experience at Dyscarr Wood SSSI

Dyscarr wood is situated on the edge of an ex-coalmining town in North Nottinghamshire. The Wildlife Trust wish to encourage the local community to use the reserve, providing volunteer opportunities to encourage active participation in the management of their local green space. In addition we will be hosting an open day, 3 school events and place interpretation on the reserve. Wildlife Trust staff and volunteers will help to enhance the wildlife value of this reserve by removing sycamore, developing a pond for newts, laying hedging and erecting boundary fencing
