Improving the visitor experience at RSPB The Lodge

The project will enhance three aspects of The Lodge nature reserve for visitors’ experience: Wildlife garden: Create a wildlife garden using plants that can contend with rising temperatures and reduced rainfall, as a result of climate change. It will showcase what can be done for nature even on a very small-scale. Children’s play area: Installl an iron age play roundhouse in the natural play area. A small wildlife pond with feeding station and birdwatching screen will be built to help children get closer to nature and we will invest in a wildlife table (including equipment such as microscopes) for visiting families to use. Nature trail improvements: ‘Sky watching chairs’, hammocks and benches will be installed along nature trails. Interpetation panels will be installed along ‘wellbeing trail’.
