Infrastructure and access improvements to Wildwood Canterbury

The aim of the project is to assist disadvantaged groups and individuals to access, enjoy and connect with their natural heritage and extend their knowledge and opportunities. The objective of this project is to provide improved access to the park for people with disabilities or limited mobility, families with pushchairs and any other affected visitors. The project will entail strengthening, adding to and improving pathways around our ancient woodland park; making our viewing platform to the wolf enclosure expansion accessible to the disabled and disadvantaged; and adding safety fencing, signage and interpretation around the park. This will improve the quality and accessibility of our diverse natural heritage of 1000 year old woodland and its indigenous inhabitants, as displayed here at Wildwood Trust, to disadvantaged groups and individuals that would not be able fully to access and enjoy it otherwise.
