Infrastructure provision for sports field improvements and development

This application on behalf of Clarbeston Road AFC consists of 2 parts. The first is to address current operational difficulties by the provision of ball stop nets for an existing football pitch and a mowing machine to maintain existing playing surfaces. The second part is to provide match funding (20%) for infrastructure works to be funded by a Welsh Government Rural Community Development Fund. These works form Stage 1 of a 3 stage master plan for the redevelopment of the club site. Stages 2 and 3 (construction of a new building housing changing rooms and a club/meeting room followed by the creation of a 3G artificial pitch) will be separately funded. The redevelopment master plan is designed to address the barriers to participation created by existing inadequate facilities. In particular, the club wishes to improve access for disability and female participation. The facilities will also be made available to other groups and enable more local delivery of some services within the rural community
