Inner City Sustainable Waste Management Communication & Education Programme

Funding is being sought to develop a comprehensive, sustainable communication and education programme, including promotional events and campaigns, tailor-mde, to encourage residents in all areas of the Borough of Lewisham to take more responsibility for the waste they produce. Funding will also ensure that activities supporting informaton exchange and raising awareness on how to dispose of waste in a sustainable manner are delivered. The aim of this programme is to encourage greater participation in recycling schemes from all sections of the community and especially those areas that are difficult to reach and pose particular challenges for inner city boroughs. This project is registered on the condition that the EB will keep and maintain records to demonstrate that funds have been spent on swm elements only and that the project does not fulfil part of any contract between the Contributor and Lewisham Council.
