Installation of an Archaeology Gallery at Worcestershire County Museum

This project will create a new permanent Archaeological Gallery within Worcestershire County Museum at Hartlebury Castle. The new gallery will set the scene as visitors enter the Museum by telling the story of Worcestershire’s early inhabitants, landscape and animals, supported by real archaeological finds and stunning visuals. The new interpretative displays will guide the visitor through the Ice Age, Stone Ages, Bronze Age and Iron Age and Roman periods, and hands-on interactives including 3D printed replicas of original artefacts will bring the subject to life. The gallery will address a significant gap in the County Museum’s visitor journey which currently covers the period from 17th -21st centuries. The gallery will also link to the new prehistory curriculum for primary school children and new education sessions will be developed to enhance pupils’ understanding of this subject.
