Installation of Solar Panels and Battery Storage, Messing Village Hall, Colchester

Messing Village Hall is a Grade II listed building dating back to 1748. The hall underwent extensive refurbishment in 2011, during which an air-source heat pump and a number of solar panels were installed. This project aims to further enhance the hall’s sustainability by installing additional solar panels and battery storage. The installation of additional solar panels will ensure that the majority of the hall’s energy needs are met through solar power via battery storage, significantly reducing its running costs. The hall serves as a vital community facility and is regularly used by various groups (see below), as well as for private functions, including family celebrations, children’s classes, company training sessions, and local events. It also serves as the designated Polling Station for the village.
