Projects / Insulation and replacement of roof Peak Forest Reading Room

Insulation and replacement of roof Peak Forest Reading Room

The Reading Room is located in a widespread rural community and is used by the local play group, school and other community groups who meet on a regularly basis. The main aim of the project is to ensure the sustainability of the only community building (a Grade II listed building) in the local rural community, which is essential as a centre for social and educational purposes.

The project also aims to:
• To replace the leaking roof and prevent further water damage to the fabric of the building due to the ingress of rainwater.

• To insulate the roof to current day standards in order to reduce energy costs and carbon emissions (currently there is no insulation).

• To move towards permanently eliminating the damp to the internal walls.

• To move towards making the building fit for purpose for all who use it.
