Irk Valley Access Scheme

This project is part of a larger project to completely upgrade the Irk Valley – an area of countryside in the Haggate area of Royton.
The main objectives are:
· Promote the use of the site by schoolchildren, local residents and walkers.
· Work with local pupils to identify barriers to access and provide practical solutions to encourage greater use of the path network
· Improve entrance ways to create an attractive, identifiable and welcoming access points to local green gaps, green corridors and the wider countryside.
· Install site signage at various access points
· Resurface areas of footpath that are no longer fit for purpose
· Carry out practical events with local residents and pupils to remove litter and flytipping.
