Jailey Fields, Leeds – New Play Space (007981)

Oak Road Recreation Ground is a community asset known locally as Jailey Fields. It is in the New Wortley area of Armley adjacent to HM Prison Leeds. The area has many low income families in high-rise or multi-storey blocks with no direct access to gardens and no car. The greenspace space currently has a MUGA and a path circuit (both in need of a refresh). There is no designated play equipment within New Wortley. This project will create a new play space and ‘Make Jailey Fields a Park’, increasing the area’s appeal and usage, providing a space that will be a hub for activity, education, play and leisure for the whole community.
