John Smiths Stadium/Kilner Bank Riverside site

Our overall aim is to promote and develop the River Colne catchment and surrounding areas as a recreational, cultural and environmental resource for the whole community. With this particular project we will be creating:

– A safe, pedestrian access route down a steep slope to the river from the main Riverside Way and an informal link path along the river. The route will be constructed using materials appropriate to the semi-natural location (predominantly recycled plastic for longevity and minimal maintenance), by installing a surfaced permeable route with flights of steps and galvanised railings; Feature, Greenstreams branded gateways to the two main informal semi-natural greenspaces by erecting railings, to guide people into routes, and signage.

This work will help contribute to the establishment of a recognised riverside amenity area and will be complementary to the HDOne initiative to develop leisure and recreational facilities at the stadium site.
