Jubilee Stone Wood and Badgers Wood – Ash Die Back Essential Tree Works

This project is to ensure the continued safe, public access Jubilee Stone Wood and Badgers Wood Nature Reserves (land totalling 22 acres) by the essential felling of a large number of ash trees which have succumbed to Chalara ash die back disease. Since 2006, Backwell Environment Trust has run and managed the two adjacent/connected woods as one site as a wonderful local amenity with highly diverse wildlife habitats however ash die back disease is now threatening to close the site to public access for health and safety reasons. The works will be undertaken in two phases – the felling of 40+ large mature trees within striking distance of houses and roads and then the felling of 50-60 trees located close to bridleways and footpaths on site.
