KELVINGROVE BOWLING & TENNIS PAVILION

This proposal seeks a funding contribution towards the upgrade and extension of the existing ageing bowling / tennis pavilion in Kelvingrove Park, so as to provide a fit-for purpose building in support of the long term development of lawn bowls, tennis and croquet.

The existing pavilion is in need of major investment to bring it up to modern standards. The proposed investment of approximately £816,000 will increase the size of the building by just over 200m2 to comprise changing / showering accommodation, club room, function room with kitchen, staff accommodation and equipment storage. The enhanced building will complement recent Council investment to upgrade 5 of the 6 bowling greens in preparation for the 2014 Commonwealth Games, along with the 6 tennis courts at Kelvingrove Park and enable the venue to act as a focus for sports development in 3 aforementioned sports.”
