Kemp Delph Improvements

Kemp Delph is a local beauty spot, and popular with walkers. However, the water body has been closed off following incidents of dangerous ‘tombstoning’ (people jumping from rocks and swimming in the quarry) and anti-social behaviour.

To enable the site to be re-opened, floating wildlife rafts will be introduced that will not only prevent people jumping from height into the water but will also provide safe nesting sites for birds. New native hedgerow planting including hawthorn, holly, blackthorn and honeysuckle which will give a more substantial natural boundary and enclosure and enhance the natural surroundings. Planting will be protected with the installation of stock fencing to encourage establishment.

Access improvements such as new gates and additional more sensitive fencing as we as new signage will be installed to inform users of sensible use of the site.
