Kennedy Way Pond Restoration

In recent years there has been a significant deterioration in the integrity of the pond liner that was originally installed. Around the rim of the pond, the liner is brittle and it has cracked in many places. This has meant that the water level is well below the optimum level to sustain a thriving wildlife pond. Furthermore, the pond edge has also been invaded by a carpet of the invasive, exotic pond weed New Zealand pigmy weed which has eliminated native vegetation and has led to a loss of native species and biodiversity. This project will lead to the full restoration of this pond so that it would again become a thriving wildlife habitat.
