Kent – Nature Conservation Activities

The project aims to provide practical conservation work to the Cromer’s Wood. This nature reserve is a SNCI (site of nature conservation importance) and consists of 28 hectares of ancient semi-natural woodland. There are a diverse number of woodland floras, with over thirty species indicative of ancient woodland recorded, such as wood spurge, herb-Paris, wood anemone, pimrose and early purple orchids. Rare micro-moths and at least 39 breeding species of bird have also been recorded, including the great spotted woodpecker and sparrow hawk. There are also several species of bat and numerous mammal species within the site
