Keresley Community Centre, Coventry – Renewable Energy Improvements and Community Garden (008174)

The project seeks to transform the centre into a vibrant, sustainable hub for the local community. By installing solar panels and upgrading energy systems, the organisation will reduce carbon emissions and significantly lower energy costs, ensuring the space remains financially viable and accessible for more frequent community use.
The project also focuses on enhancing local biodiversity through the creation of wildlife habitats, including bird huts and flower beds, as well as establishing a community allotment.
In addition, the organisation will offer hands-on environmental education through forest school activities, fostering a connection to nature from a young age.
The centre will serve as a welcoming space for all, providing activities such as youth clubs, boxing sessions, sports, and a social café, while addressing local challenges such as crime, anti-social behaviour, and health disparities. This initiative will build a stronger, more resilient community, driving lasting, positive change.
