Kilnhurst Ings wetland wildlife

Kilnhurst Ings is an area of water meadow north of Rotherham, a mixture of wet grassland, ditches and water-filled scrapes, home to an increasing population of wetland birds including BAP species lapwing, redwing, linnet, redpoll, reed bunting, starling and songthrush. The site is also home to an increasing population of overwintering snipe and even hosts migrants like little egret.
We would like to install fencing which will protect the vulnerable wildlife habitat from damage and disturbance by cattle and dogs, while still allowing access to human visitors.
