Kingswells Path & Pond Improvement Scheme

At present the paths through the greenspace are overgrown, narrow and some flood, discouraging those who could walk to school. There is also a lack of a direct path to the footbridge over the burn closest to the school, and the alternative route is experiencing frequent flooding and constant mud and debris blocking access. The project will widen and re-dust the existing path network where necessary, will further install a new path to link the bus stop at Kingswells Drive along the desire line to the footbridge and will tackle the flooding of the path further along the burn. A further aspect of the project is to enhance the local environs of the pond. THe pond is suffering from congested vegetation growth along the shore line. In order to improve the pond edge, a community green day is planned to coordinate local volunteers to clean and remove the vegetation for a distance of approximately 5metres either side of the pond dipping platform.
