Kirk Ness Interpretation Project

Kirk Ness is a rocky peninsula extending some 400 metres north into the Firth of Forth from the town of North Berwick. Near the base of the peninsula are the remains of an 8th Century church, used as an embarkation point for pilgrims bound for St. Andrews, in Fife. When the Scotttish Seabird Centre was built, important early Christian artefacts were found. The project is to catalogue the findings outcome in a monograph as a synthesis for a public audience, increase the understanding of the site to supplement the enjoyment of visiting Kirk Ness with the Scottish Seabird Centre and a future museological exhibition.
