Kirriemuir Swift Conservation Project

Tayside Swifts is one of Tayside Biodiversity Partnership’s (TBP) Species Interests Groups which reports to the Urban & Built Environment Working Group. It has worked closely at a Scotland-wide and UK-wide level for the past few years to raise awareness of the increasing plight of Swifts. This project will work collaboratively with householders to erect 100 swift nest boxes in areas where swifts are known to be found in Kirriemuir. Conserving existing swift nest sites and providing new ones. The objective of the project is to increase the swift population of Kirriemuir and surrounding area, involve the local community and environmental groups with surveying of the swift population and monitoring of the nest boxes.
