Kitchen Refurbishment, Cheltenham Rugby Club, Glos

This project is to refurbish and modernise the old kitchen area with the aim to provide a high quality, hygienic, fully compliant kitchen. Some of the kitchen equipment and appliances are over thirty years old and there have been serious problems with the oven, fat fryer and rational (a type of combi-oven). A short while ago the club was forced to remove these items and hire replacements on a weekly basis. As a result of this staff are under severe pressure, especially when providing meals for large groups. It therefore became clear that the club must replace much of the kitchen. A modern refurbishment will benefit the local community, with the club being able to widen the food menu and be more ambitious. Not only does the club serve food for sports players every day of the week, but many local people use the facilities for meetings, wakes, parties, and business gatherings. Membership meal bookings are in jeopardy if there is not an efficient service for meals. This project will make a massive improvement.
