Knowl Hill Cycle Route Improvement

This project will replace the worn out surface on a section of National Cycle Route 4 at Knowl Hill. This path is part of a long-distance route between London and Fishguard via Windsor, Maidenhead and Reading. The path is heavily potholed making access difficult and in some parts unsafe for cyclists and other users. There are also drainage issues with channels having been carved into the surface from rainwater. Over the years attempts have been made to patch the potholes, but the accumulation of repairs is such that a more comprehensive approach is now required involving reprofiling of the surface to improve natural drainage and resurfacing to provide an even and harder wearing surface.
