Laburnum Boat Club, London – Solar Panels and ASHP Installation (008016)

Laburnum Boat Club intend to install solar PV’s together with an air source heat pump and improve the lighting in the main building. They also intend to install solar PVs to two narrowboats permanently moored at the project site. As well as member activities the club run a school holiday programmes for 9-18 year olds, regular clubs for mixed ages and abilities, specific youth disability groups 3 times a week and groups focused on independence and adults with mental health difficulties. Last winter they were part of the Hackney Council “Warm Spaces” initiative and continue to provide a safe, warm space for hundreds of vulnerable Hackney residents. These measures will greatly reduce the energy consumption for the organisation, their carbon footprint and ensure the charity is more resilient and sustainable.
